Exhibition at GATMO – Aspettando il Premio Valcellina Award – Le Arti Tessili APS – Maniago, PN
As part of the 12th Edition of the Premio Valcellina Award exhibition cycle, on Monday, August 22 2025 at 6 PM, the GATMO – Galleria di Arte Tessile Contemporanea “Gina Morandini” in Maniago (PN) opened the exhibition “Microamica & Valcellina Collection”.
In this show, the delicate papercut works of Giulia Civitico met selected pieces from the Valcellina Collection produced by international artists who took part in past editions of the Prize.
The dialogue between Microamica’s refined paper-cut imagery and the fiber and textile artworks of the collection created a unique interplay of materials, surfaces, and conceptual layers.
The exhibition remained open until September 13 2025, every Saturday from 3 PM to 6 PM, offering visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the interplay of paper, textile art and space.
As part of her exhibition at Le Arti Tessili in Maniago, Giulia Civitico (Microamica) presented a series of delicate papercut artworks exploring themes of memory, identity, and the quiet power of manual creation.
The exhibition offered an intimate look into her creative process, where fragility and precision coexist in finely detailed layers of paper.
Alongside the show, Giulia led a papercutting workshop that invited participants to experience the same meditative process behind her work. During the session, they were encouraged to test both their skills and their patience, creating a collective piece by carefully cutting colored paper with precision knives — a process that became, for some, a moment of calm focus and, for others, a small act of introspection.
